Privacy Policy

Growes Industries DOES NOT sell any of your information to third parties.

We believe that our customers should be treated with openness, and honestly. We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, security and privacy of your personal information.

This privacy policy is based upon and adheres to the 10 privacy principles set out in the Canadian Federal Government’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and outlines the manner in which we collect, use, disclose and manage your personal information.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means any information about an identifiable individual, such as your name, address, email address, birth date, age, gender, ethnic origin, opinions, evaluations, comments, and occupation. It does not include business contact information such as an employee’s name, title, business address, business telephone number, or business email. We invite you to review our Privacy Policy and revisit it periodically. All changes will be reflected in the most current version that is posted on our website.

We are accountable for all personal information under our control. Any enquiries on compliance with applicable privacy legislation, including PIPEDA we can be contacted at:

Purposes

We will let you know the reason for collecting your personal information at or before the time your information is collected. Personal information may be collected for purposes such as:

Phone: When you contact us by phone to request a quotation, make a purchase or to request to receive our promotional materials, we collect your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information. We use this information to process your order and send you our promotional materials. We may also use your phone or fax number, email or mailing address to contact you if we have any questions about your order.

Online: When you make a purchase online at growes.ca, we collect your name, address, phone number, email address and credit card information. We use this information to process your order. If you have also requested that you would like to receive our promotional materials, we use your name, address and email address (if applicable) to fulfill this request.

In-Store: When you visit a store, we ask you for your name, address, phone number and email address. We use this information to send you our promotional materials (if you opt in) and to facilitate returns without a receipt. For prepaid merchandise in the store, we require to see identification of the person picking up the order. We do this to protect our Customers and ourselves from fraud, and ask our Customers to inform the people they have picking up the order that this will be required.

Consent

We ask for your consent for all personal information collected, used, and disclosed prior to or at the time of collection. How we obtain your consent will depend on the circumstances and sensitivity of the information collected. We may seek your consent, orally, electronically, or in writing.

Sometimes, but only regarding non-sensitive personal information, your consent may be implied. For example, by entering one of our on-line contests, your consent to our use of your personal information to administer the contest is implied by your completion of the on-line entry form. Also, with non-sensitive personal information (i.e. name, address, phone number and e-mail address) only, we may use it to send you information about us, our products, business and upcoming events until you advise us that you no longer wish to receive such information. However, when using this “opt-out” method of consent, we will provide you with a clear and simple process for having your name and contact information removed from such communications.

Keep in mind that you may withdraw your consent at any time to any of the uses or disclosures contemplated in this Privacy Policy, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Please note, however, that withdrawing your consent to some of the contemplated uses or disclosures may render it impossible for us to continue to provide material to you which you have previously requested.

Information we collect and use

We collect your personal information in a number of different ways. For example, we collect information from you when you make a purchase online or in-store, register for a contest or promotion, or complete an online survey conducted by us. We will limit the amount and type of personal information collected from you to that which is necessary for the purposes we have communicated to you. We retain your personal information only for so long as necessary to fulfill our stated purposes.
